PrideAbility
A safe, fun, and inclusive social club for LGBTQIA+ people with disability — a place where everyone can truly be themselves.
Who this is for
PrideAbility is a social club for LGBTQIA+ people with disability. It is a welcoming space to connect with others, celebrate your identity, and be part of a supportive community. We know many people face barriers that affect their self-expression and identity — PrideAbility is a place where you can belong, build confidence, and form friendships. Allies are also welcome to join several of our activities throughout the year.
What we offer
PrideAbility is all about community, connection, and fun. We take part in mainstream LGBTQIA+ events and run our own activities, including:
- Mainstream events like Sydney Mardi Gras, the QueerScreen Film Festival, the Parramatta Pride Picnic, and Drag Bingo
- Nights out at bars or clubs, and group dinners
- Peer mentoring and educational workshops
- Casual catch-ups and community-led projects
PrideAbility members have also helped create educational resources for people with disability and support workers about sexuality, relationships, and identity.
How it works
- Get in touch to find out more about the group and upcoming activities.
- Come along to events and social gatherings and meet peers and mentors.
- Take part, connect, and help shape our community-led projects.
Can I get this?
PrideAbility welcomes LGBTQIA+ people with disability, as well as allies for selected activities. If you would like to take part, or find out how you can support or sponsor an event, contact us and we will tell you more.
