Outreach & Engagement
Information sessions, support groups and community education to help new arrivals understand life in Australia and connect to the right services.
Who this is for
New arrivals and members of culturally and linguistically diverse communities who want to learn more about life in Australia, meet others, and find their way to the services they need.
What we offer
Our experienced generalist case workers listen to your needs and give you the tools to build independence. We provide casework and support across the priority issues of settling in, including:
- Client information sessions — regular sessions on settlement topics like the Australian legal system, policing, family harmony and education
- Multicultural support groups — weekly or fortnightly groups with guest speakers and a chance to share the issues affecting you, in a safe and friendly setting
- Community education on the Australian way of life — sessions to inform and welcome new arrivals
- Connecting with mainstream services — our case workers listen to your needs and link you to the right services, including emergency services.
- Legal Aid Refugee Service – if you need legal services, we can make your appointment and you will meet the Legal Aid at either our Blacktown or Mt Druitt office
How it works
- Get in touch or ask your case worker about upcoming sessions
