Social support groups
Regular groups for seniors to stay connected, share, and enjoy time together — in your language and your community.
Who this is for
Older people who’d like more social connection and a chance to get out, meet others and break the isolation that can come with ageing. Our groups bring together seniors from many cultural and language backgrounds.
What we offer
A service under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), our groups offer:
- Social outings and group activities
- Information sessions on topics that matter to you
- Group sharing and friendship
Current groups span a wide range of communities, including Arabic/Coptic, Bandila, Bhutanese, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Filipino, Gujarati, Indian/Fijian, Indian/Punjabi, Indonesian, Iranian, Maltese, Serbian, Spanish, Tamil, Sri Lankan, and multicultural seniors’ groups across Blacktown, Cumberland, Glenwood, Granville and Mt Druitt.
Our centre-based respite program (also a CHSP service) provides day care for seniors.
Can I get this?
Our CHSP-funded programs operate only within the local government areas of Blacktown, Cumberland, Parramatta and The Hills. A My Aged Care referral is required.
