Centre-based Respite
A welcoming day program where older people can stay active, connected, engaged and healthy — and where carers can take a break, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.
Who this is for
This program is for seniors aged 65 and over who live in Western Sydney This program is for seniors aged 65 and over who live in Western Sydney (Blacktown, Cumberland, Parramatta, and The Hills local government areas) and have a carer. It gives seniors a chance to enjoy company and activities during the day, and gives carers some time to rest. Our staff are experienced, qualified, and bilingual, so you can feel at home in your own language.
What we offer
Our day respite program is built around positive ageing and wellbeing. Activities are designed to keep you active in body, mind, and spirit and socially connected and engaged:
- Art and creative activities, exercise (laughter and movement therapy)
- Excursions and outings
- Digital skills familiarity and training
- Safe spaces to build connection & lasting friendships
- information sessions from health professionals, local councils and government bodies
- Morning tea and a hot lunch every day
The program runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 10am to 2pm, at the Glenwood Community Hub (72 Glenwood Park Dr, Glenwood NSW 2768).
How it works
- Get a referral through My Aged Care for ‘Home or community general respite – Community and centre-based respite’. If you do not have a referral code yet, we can help you get one.
- Contact us when you have your referral code to register and tell us which days suit you.
- Come along and join in. You can choose the cost option that works for you — $15 per person per day (excluding transport), or $21 per person per day including transport to and from the centre if you live within the Blacktown LGA. Morning tea, a hot lunch, and afternoon tea are included either way.
Refer a friend to our Day Respite Centres and you will receive two free sessions.
Can I get this?
You can join if you are 65 years or over, live in the Blacktown, Parramatta, The Hills, Cumberland councils, and have a carer. A My Aged Care referral is required. If you are not sure how to register or do not have a referral code, just call us — we will help you.
