Aged care

Home Care Packages support you to live independently in your own home for as long as possible. SydWest Multicultural Services offers a range of support services tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. The programs are suitable for people who require basic to high-level care and the services include case management and assistance with activities of daily living.

Ongoing or short term support services can be provided through the Commonwealth Home Support Program and can include; help with housework, assistance with showering and personal grooming, social support and respite (which, if required may include preparation of culturally appropriate light meals).

Our regular social support groups for seniors help break social isolation through social outings, information sessions and group sharing. Current groups include Arabic/Coptic, Bandila, Bhutanese, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Filipino, Gujurati, Indian/Fijian Subcontinent, Indian/Punjabi Glenwood, Indonesian, Iranian, Maltese, Manila, Pinoy, Serbian, Spanish, Tamil, Turkish, Iranian, Sri Lankan, Blacktown, Cumberland, Glenwood and Mt Druitt Multicultural seniors’ groups.

We also offer a centre based respite program that provides day care for seniors

SydWest Multicultural Services is proud to have funded and was part of the pioneers of the Healthy Older People Partnership (HOPP) program which was piloted in 2016 for elderly clients from non-English speaking backgrounds living Western Sydney. We continue to offer this program to our clients. We provide trained Care Workers who teach our aged care clients the key exercise activities aimed at improving strength and balance and can help reduce the risk of falls in the home.
