Employee Benefits

Above Award Pay

SydWest Multicultural Services reward all staff with above award pay and conditions. That means you work 35 hours per week and get paid for 38 hours per week.

Working from Home

SydWest Multicultural Services recognises that there are circumstances where allowing a staff member to regularly work from home may assist the staff member to balance his/her work, health issues or other responsibilities.

Parental Leave

A full time employee who has served for a continuous period of not less than fifty-two (52) weeks shall be entitled to leave on full pay for a period of twelve (12) weeks.

Study Leave

Permanent employees who have worked for a continuous period of six months shall be entitled to up to 4 hours per week (pro-rata rates apply to part time staff) of paid leave over the academic year.

Travel and Mileage Reimbursement

Where an employee is required and authorised by SydWest Multicultural Services to use their motor vehicle in the course of their duties, the employee is entitled to be reimbursed in accordance with the applicable Award.

Family and Domestic Violence Leave

An employee may take 10 days PAID leave in a calendar year to deal with family and domestic violence.

Salary Sacrifice

SydWest Multicultural Services offers salary packing to eligible staff on a number of tax-free benefits in accordance with the status of Public Benevolent Institution, acknowledged by the Australian Taxation Office.

Leave between Christmas and New Year

The office is closed over the Christmas and New Year period. Staff are entitled to paid leave for the period between Christmas and New Year and this leave is not detracted from any other leave entitlements.
