The Blacktown event gives our long term residents the opportunity to connect with some of our newest Australians to increase understandings and break down barriers.

Harmony Day is an opportunity to celebrate our incredible diversity, showcase the many stories and contributions from within the community and reinforce our desire for inclusiveness, respect and belonging. Each year SydWest Multicultural Services joins with other organisations to showcase the strong and vibrant multicultural spirit that exists in the Blacktown LGA.

All welcome to this free community event featuring entertainment, kids’ activities, information stalls and a free sausage sizzle.

Local community service providers and established community organisations took part in this free community event designed to inform and connect people with their local community.

Refugee Week 2016

Join us on Thursday 23 June as we celebrate Refugee Week in Blacktown.

Drawing on the diverse stories and talent from our young refugee community, we have teamed up with local schools who have a significant refugee student population to bring a youth focus to the day.

People of all ages and cultures are invited to attend the event which celebrates the positive contributions made by refugees to Australia while also raising awareness about the issues affecting refugees.
